No tilting of the forklift cabin door with lubrication-free linear guides

drylin linear rails guide the cabin door safely and maintenance-free for indoor and outdoor use

This forklift is subjected to shock and vibration on a daily basis. In the past, this meant that the sliding door guide jammed, so the door could no longer be moved. The old guide was therefore exchanged for two drylin linear guides. They now keep the door stable and ensure smooth sliding during opening and closing. The robust material easily absorbs shocks and vibration.

Profile

  • What was needed: drylin W linear plain bearing
  • Requirements: Safe car door guidance should be possible in the event of impacts and strong vibrations. The forklift is also used outdoors and is exposed to dust and dirt.
  • Industry: material handling
  • Success for the customer: By replacing the bearings with drylin bearings, the customer received a completely lubrication-free and maintenance-free system that absorbs shocks and vibrations and is resistant to dust and dirt.

Problem

Lochmann Kabinen GmbH specialises in the manufacture of cabins for industrial vehicles such as agricultural vehicles or for ground vehicles.
With this forklift, which is used both indoors and outdoors, the working environment has a very special influence on the cabin. As it drives all day long on hard or uneven surfaces, the cabin is exposed to many impacts and sometimes strong vibrations. The harsh working environment also made itself felt in the sliding cabin door. The door, which was also often left open, wore out on the suspension with time. Various materials and dirt had also affected the glide bars on which the door could be moved.
As the system eventually tilted and increasingly could not be moved, the operator was looking for a more robust and durable linear bearing solution to suspend the cabin door.

Solution

The manufacturer, who finally contacted us, replaced the vulnerable system with two drylin W linear bearings, which now guide the cabin door securely at the top and bottom.
As the glide bars are completely self-lubricating, maintenance is no longer required. In addition, the linear bearings are resistant to dust, moisture and dirt generated when manoeuvring the forklift. The actual problem - the heavy wear caused by increased shocks and vibrations - has also been a thing of the past since the replacement with the resistant drylin linear bearings. The door is firmly fixed in the rails and no longer loosens. Installation of the new rail system is also user-friendly. It can be assembled quickly and easily without special equipment.
