Energy chains lower machine and system noise levels

8% quieter with rubber dampers.

The E4.1 system is already quieter than its predecessor. A minor upgrade can make the system even quieter. It involves giving each link two rubber dampers in its outer radius; at a speed of 1m/s, adding pads to an ES4.42 reduces noise from 50dB(A) to 46dB(A) compared to a E4.42.

From very quiet to a whisper.

The E6 series was already one of the quietest e-chains® in our range. The successor to the E6.1 series has been redesigned and a brake added, making it 9% quieter than the E6 chain.

Why is the E2.1 series so quiet?

The primary reason for the E2.1 chain's smooth operation compared to the E2/000, which affects feel as well as sound, is the innovative brake installed in the link on both sides. This component functions like a shock absorber as soon as the chain links run into the stop-dog. The brake reduces the typical chain rattling of a E2.38 (E2.1 series) compared to the 2600 (E2/000 series) chain of the same construction – from 64 dB(A) to 55 dB(A).

Robust, easy-to-install chains are also even quieter.

Cursing is not the only noise the much easier, tool-free installation of the E4Q eliminates as compared to the 4040C. Even with verbal eruptions taken into account, the E4Q is 25% quieter than the comparably-sized 4040C chain. Given the same test conditions, the technical refinements such as the integrated brake show that the E4Q (52dB(A)) is 17dB(A) quieter than the 4040C (69dB(A)).

E4Q vs. E4/4

Small things matter

These three animations show the technical details, some of which are hidden or difficult to see, that make the e-chain® quieter.
Wings Small wings on the scalable crossbars between the E6.1 links ensure that the impact of the links is dampened. As a result noise generation is significantly reduced in the radius of the e-chain®. This combines with the low pitch to ensure that the E6.1 is especially quiet.
Polygon effect The "polygon effect" states that many small elements create a rounder shape than just a few larger ones. The especially small pitch of the E6.1 ensures very "round" tracking behaviour. This reduces vibrations to a minimum and enables maximum precision. At the same time, the rolling noise is reduced significantly.
Brake Simple principle but extremely effective. A wedge-shaped contour in the e-chain® stop-dog dampens the e-chain®'s impact noises

Other volume controls

These chain series or additional equipment also ensure low noise emissions.

What our customers say:

Noise Application 1
"Movement must be absolutely quiet, and there must never be any vibrations that could affect the picture quality."

Camerobot Systems GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Fabian Kaiser
Noise Application 2
"The chain is placed in almost absolute silence, something our customers really appreciate. “

Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Stephan Preuß
Noise Application 3
"The side-mounted e-chain does not produce any noticeable vibrations and, at less than 40 dB(A), even remained below the specifications we set."
